Countess From Hong Kong [VHS]
$2.45 Charlie Chaplin's last film is the cinematic equivalent of Willie Mays staying too long in baseball--a sad farewell from someone who has clearly lost his touch. Bikram yoga has boomed in recent years. Pioneer in LA to talk aloud, Rolls Royce driving, sporting Speedo Bikram Choudary, is an intense series of 26 yoga postures performed in a warm room – up to 40 degrees.
So with some trepidation that I found myself falling into my shorts, grab my two towels and a water bottle and heading in the yoga room. The room was large, with mirrors along one wall. Picking up a rubber yoga mat I took my place among the acolytes of others. Soon I heard the roaring cauldron of a life boat and the room began to warm, then hot. Next news is that a very fit looking Hoves woman in sight with a radio microphone and Madonna-esque lets us know that we are about to begin.
After a bit of preamble with no pressure too, and only remain in the room for 90 minutes was an achievement it was time to start the breathing exercise first. This completed was smoking as the Flying Scotsman and redder than Dennis Healey. He also was sweating up a storm. After the breathing was directly Crescent. You will be surprised how difficult who is standing with his arms above his head or leg for more than a minute. The people around me also bending sideways, like bananas curved pink.
And so for about 20 minutes when we were allowed to decompose water first. At this point, made the rookie mistake in the downing of a liter of water. If it were not sick before I certainly was after that piece of nonsense!
After the break we were taken through all kinds of contortions in the Triangle to punish the Rabbit just sadistic position. Finally things settled a bit and I could go into some of the positions of without wondering how I would get out. Apparently, when you're squeezing in and out of postures, which are dumping a lot of toxins in the bloodstream that may cause some nausea.
By time we reached the end of the breath I was standing on a towel soaked in shorts that were so wet as if it had been sitting in a bath. However, I felt strangely euphoric. Standing in a shower of ice cold water for about 10 minutes later, I began to feel much better. By the time he was dressed and outside, even better. I was so full of energy that I could hardly sleep that night and this led the following day.
So the next day and every day for the next 10 days I returned for more hot stretching and bending action and the results have been amazing. Besides stone in weight that has gone somewhere, the big difference I feel is the increase of energy – full disclosure. Thus, while can be very daunting and 26 poses done twice each in a room so hot it may cause you to have many strange moments, the results have to feel for believe. So yourself to your local yoga studio and start to blow hot as Sctosman Flying!
About the Author:
As well as now being a leading light on the Bikram Yoga scene, Patrick Attlee can also show you the best hair thickening shampoo to use. Amazing eh?

North by Northwest (Two-Disc 50th Anniversary Edition)
$11.45 A strong candidate for the most sheerly entertaining and enjoyable movie ever made by a Hollywood studio (with Citizen Kane, Only Angels Have Wings and Trouble in Paradise running neck and neck).
