The city's most famous shopping in the U.S. is undoubtedly New York. Probably due to television programs as Sex and the City, is much the fashion capital of America.

New York is the largest city in the U.S. and the scale and variety of shops in the city is incomparable. The main shopping areas are on the island of Manhattan, and these include Madison Avenue, Fifth Avenue, 57th Street, Times Square Shopping Mall and the Lower East Side.

On Madison Avenue you'll find in stores and designer boutiques such as Barney's New York, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Dolce & Gabbana, FAO Schwarz, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Madison Ave. Books, Prada, Valentino, Yves St. Laurent, and many others.

On Fifth Avenue (which runs parallel Madison Avenue) for more Stores upscale street. The list includes Bergdorf Goodman, Bulgari, Disney Store, Gucci, H. Stern, Louis Vuitton, NBA Store, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co. and more. There are also a number of malls in the city that should have almost everything you need. These include the Aventura Mall, where you'll find all the big names and a 24-theater movie screen when you need a break; Bal Harbor Shops, which has stores to meet any budget, Lincoln Road Mall, an outdoor mall with many shops and restaurants, and Dadeland Mall, which was one of the first malls built in the U.S., and remains home to the biggest names like Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue.

The U.S. capital, Washington DC, has more than a lot of museums and historic monuments. The business district of Chevy Chase in Washington is the most stylish luxury fashion, but could try to visit Georgetown, which has a variety of stores from mid to high end stores. Verizon Center Downtown / Chinatown also has enjoyed a boom in recent times and has a lot new shops and attractions.

Some more unusual shops include Reiter's Scientific & Professional Books, which is the scientific library, medical and technical leader in the eastern U.S. coast. There is also the U Street corridor, with all its independent boutiques, vintage clothing stores, furniture stores for home and business antiques.
