The Alcatraz prison on the coast of San Francisco, holds the record for not having a single outlet was officially recognized in its history. However, this record only is effective after 1933, when the island became a state prison. During its military occupation (1853-1933), the island witnessed many successful escapes. The first took place in 1878, when two men stole one of the harbor boats and rowed them to shore.

To understand the escape attempts after 1933, we must first understand the concept of little Alcatraz, which is a small island lying between the prison and the coast of San Francisco. It was here that many escapees finally with stealing $ 16 from a post office and was rumored to be mad. He was shot by prison guards while he was clearing a fence, apparently to feed birds.

James Boarman, Harold Brest, Floyd Hamilton and Fred Hunter made the next major attempt. In April 1943, after gagging a guard and a captain, the smuggle four. The escape attempt occurred in 1962, shortly before a closed prison. Two prisoners named Juan Pablo Dryl Scot and Parker left the prison. While Parker gave up and swam from Alcatraz by little, Scot became the official prisoner first to reach the coast of San Francisco. He, however, collapsed due to exhaustion and hypothermia, to reach the coast, making his attempt to escape another failed attempt.
