Some Like It Hot – 2 stars (average)

In its day, "Some Like It Hot" was a hot input, being nominated for six Oscars and winning one. Released in 1959, black and white film also served as a platform for great comedy for his three main characters-Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe), Joe as "Josephine" (Tony Curtis) and Jerry as Daphne (Jack Lemmon). Lemon was the actor, Monroe was the symbol of sex, and Curtis was the observer.

The plot found two down-on-their-luck musicians (Joe and Jerry) witness the St. Valentine's slaughter by the mob-style Mafia in 1929, during Chicago's Prohibition Era. Joe and Jerry close escape from death, then dress up as women to become "Josephine" and "Daphne", and connect with a girl band headed for a concert in sunny Florida.

Complications in the two discover that Sugar Kane is part of the troops. Playboy Curtis falls for Monroe, but must deal with its role as Josephine and Daphne Lemon must deal with the amorous attentions of Osgood Fielding III (Joe E. Brown), a old millionaire. Things heat up when mob boss Spats Colombo (George Raft) and his band appear in the same place for a "convention" of the heads of the mafia.

Billy Wilder directed this film and have fun while doing so, also had his patience tested. Apparently, Marilyn Monroe gave a new meaning to the phrase "bimbo." Volume 47 takes in a scene for "It's me, Sugar" right after 30 has had the phrase Wilder written on a blackboard for her.

After 40 shots of her saying, "Where's the bourbon?" When Monroe was rummaging through some drawers, Wilder pasted the correct line in a drawer. Monroe was still unclear as Wilder hit the line in each drawer. It took 59 takes Monroe to do well. Tony Curtis said publicly that Monroe was usually 2 to 3 hours late for the series, and sometimes refused to leave his dressing room.

Nevertheless, Some Like It Hot won an Oscar for Best Costume Design by Orry-Kelly, and has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor (Jack Lemmon), Best Art Direction (Ted Haworth and Edward G. Boyle), Best Cinematography (Charles Lang), Best Director (Billy Wilder) and Best Writing (Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond), and not even ask about IAL (a pseudonym for Itec Domnici born in Romania as a student at Columbia University).

When Orry-Kelly was the measurement of the three stars for clothes, that half-jokingly told Marilyn Monroe that "Tony Curtis has a nice ass than you." Monroe responded by pulling her blouse open and saying, "Yes, but does not have tits like these! "This was Hollywood in 1959.

Some Like It Hot also won three Golden Globe Best Picture-Comedy, Best Actor (Jack Lemon) and Best Actress (Marilyn Monroe). It's a good thing that the voters were not on set for filming.

The American Film Institute voted Some Like It Hot as the Funniest movie of all time. The film is number 14 on the AFI list of top 100 films of all time.

At the end of the movie, Daphne Osgood reported "their" future millionaire husband she will be unable to bear children. "We can take," says Osgood. "But you do not understand, Osgood! "Daphne replies," I'ma man! "Osgood says," Well, nobody's perfect! "The line" Well, nobody is perfect "is to vote as 48 more famous quotes of movie history by AFI.
