Studying abroad isn't at all like Kelly thought it would be.Instead of shopping for fine Italian leather and living in an apartment with a view of the Colosseum, she is stuck in a stuffy dorm room with three other girls, and is sharing one shower with the entire floor! This is not the bella Roma that she'd dreamed of. But there is one part of Italy that Kelly doesn't mind-Joe, a really cute guy wh...

A poem imperfect … Yes!

Normally I send poems to my friends so they can be my readers. One replied that he had taken the form of "names" rather well, but knew what he meant. I took it as a license sufficient to allow this poem imperfect.

After three years of regular attendance, you could say they've heard all (the most) of the Bible was read aloud. In this cycle of all the readings are complete. Well, as you probably know, the Lectionary is elected by the clergy, at least in the Episcopal Church. They have reasons for their selections Gospel. Some things are left out. However, I am inspired by the attention given inspiration to reading the Bible in the Church, and the selections are made.
People read these selections earlier in the week to prepare for next Sunday. In the Church I go there is a Bible study each week to look at the selections. Much attention is paid to these readings, and so I hope that communicated that I read the names on the Bible. This includes long lists of names of family members, who begat whom.

Huston Smith, a famous theologian, gave a talk at the Star King of chapel at the Graduate Theological Union some years ago and talked about how he liked the begats and begats. I heard him speak.

The names, word God …
by Peter Menkin

I waited in the names,
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Jeremiah, Isaiah.
I read Isaiah,
and I have to read it again.
Many chapters, he writes.
The names of the books
are wonderful.

Having read Names in the Bible?
The pedigree here
and not – as names!
Did you God knows
is alive in the story?
Do you believe?

It is faith that leads one?
Questions. Many
In the 21st century;
even the questions are familiar
input to the inspired words
.
I dare say, divine inspiration?
In church, people
say, "The Word of God."

Vision Quest [VHS] Vision Quest [VHS]

This film wraps up the big wrestling match that Terry Davis's novel left unresolved. It also makes Carla (Linda Fiorentino, in her screen debut) less of a bad girl. What it does capture is the book's flowing feeling of power and the possibility of youth. Probably best known for presenting a just-emerging Madonna singing "Crazy for You," Vision Quest also uses Matthew Modine nicely. He doesn't typi...
